To the feet of my Precious Gurus, with humility I bow down.

May the glory of their name spread far and wide!

May the Blessing of their Grace be inexhaustible, and pervade the three realms like the scent of the utpala flower.

In the three Jewels, with ultimate trust and unequaled confidence, I take refuge!

In this dark age, when even the great and the wise are loosing the meaning of words,
for the skillful ones, today I chant this song of commitment!
To strive unceasingly for the welfare of beings, is but my only commitment!

To actualize the outer, inner and secret meanings of this pledge, makes it thirteen, please listen carefully:

To acknowledge and abandon what has to be abandoned, to this I am committed!

To acknowledge and be aware of shortcomings and broken precepts, to this I am committed!

To acknowledge and countermand the ill tendencies of this delusive mind, to this I am committed!

To acknowledge and strongly oppose the recurrence of my bad habits, to this I am committed!

To acknowledge the supreme consistency of my weaknesses, to this I am committed!

To acknowledge and utterly eliminate all hopes and fears, to this I am committed!
To acknowledge and follow every instant Guruís guidance to this I am committed!
To acknowledge and develop what has to be developed, to this I am committed!

To acknowledge and commend the great deeds of others, to this I am committed!

To acknowledge and establish profound meaning in behavior, to this I am committed!

To acknowledge and endure countless hardships as means of refining the Essence, to this I am committed!

To acknowledge and strive unwaveringly for blissful Clarity, to this I am committed!

To acknowledge and with purpose, remain non-acting, to this I am committed!

Precious Gurus of the three times,

Although your compassion is non-conceptual

to this song, give your seal, that your son may sit peacefully

for the sake of his old mothers!
