Lama Gelong Sangyay Tendzin

A Brief Introduction

Trained as a "rimed yogi" of Tibetan Buddhism, Venerable Lama Gelong Sangyay Tendzin practices and propagates the teachings of the Karma Kamtshang lineage.

From 1981 to 1996, Lama resided permanently in Asia where he completed his formal spiritual training: Nepal - India - Ladakh - Central Tibet and Kham, Nangchen. During these years, he met and received guidance, teachings and initiations from many prominent Tibetan Masters and practiced in retreat the usual set of practices taught in the Kagyüd Lineage.

In 1992, Lama Sangyay Tendzin -aka Lama Norbu Repa- attended the enthronement of H. H. Orgyen Thrinley Dorje, the XVIIth Gyalwang Karmapa, at His Monastic Seat of Tsurphu in Tibet.

During the next three years, Lama Sangyay Tendzin lived at Tashi Gang Monastery in the Nye-Thang Valley, near the place of residence of Lord Atisha. While on this site, answering the request of His Guru, he undertook the renovation of the monastery while providing shelter and sustenance to twenty-five monks.

Upon completion, he moved to Kham-Nangchen in Eastern Tibet and initiated there several projects of assistance to Tibetan nomads.

In 1997, Lama Sangyay Tendzin came back to Europe where he created and operates "Theg-Chog Norbu Ling", a Dharma Centre established in the South of France under the spiritual authority of The Karmapa, His Holiness  Orgyen Trinley Dorje.

As a response to the requests of new students Lama further initiated a few study groups in Switzerland, Malaysia, and Arizona. Since then, these have developed into Dharma Centres with properly established legal structures.

In order to provide the needed material to support the practice of his students, Lama started "Konchog Tsegpa Parkhang". This Dharma Publishing House is also established under the protection of His Holiness Karmapa who gave it its name.

All these initiatives received His Holiness Blessings and are registered to the Tsurphu Labrang.

Lama Sangyay Tendzin maintains the traditional approach to Dharma, which emphasizes the development of wisdom through 'TÖD-SAM-GOM' - 'Listening, Studying and Practicing'.
